  2. The Triquetra Ambassador - Karen Armstrong (Cape Byron Celtic Dance)
  3. The Triquetra Achiever   - Wendy Fahey

WHAT ARE THE TRIQUETRA AWARDS?

The Triquetra awards are a new initiative introduced in 2008 specifically to recognise individuals and/or groups who have contributed in some way to the annual Celtic Festival.

As the prefix “Tri” would indicate, there are three awards:
  1. The Triquetra
  2. The Triquetra Ambassador
  3. The Triquetra Achiever
THE AWARDS

The Triquetra

This award is of prime importance and will be decided by the Executive of The Australian Celtic Committee only. No nominations are accepted.

The Triquetra Ambassador
  • This Award is Performance related (Singers, Musicians, Dancers, Pipers) and could be won by an individual or group.
  •  It is likely that the winner would be a relative newcomer to their field.

The winner will be required, from 2011, to perform at both the Festival at which the Award is made and the following Festival, where they will be asked to present the Award to the next Winner.
  • The Winner will have a connection to the Festival, but not necessarily of long duration.
Submissions for consideration in this category will be sought from all stakeholders in the ACF [Clans, affiliated societies, GISC, the Glen Innes Services Club and the Committee].
  • This Award may only be given to a successful candidate once, but unsuccessful candidates may be nominated again.

The Triquetra Achiever
  • The Winner of this Award will have demonstrated a high level of achievement in their field, including Performance; Celtic Art - any medium; Linguistics; Education; History; Event Development or Staging; Marketing; or Administration.

  • There must a strong, long term and ongoing connection with The Australian Celtic Festival.
  • The winner must demonstrate strong knowledge of the place of Celtic Culture in both contemporary and historical Australian life.
  • The winner will be a person capable of representing and promoting the ACF in many arenas.
