2010 JOUSTING

Full Tilt will be presenting a jousting demonstration at the Glen Innes Celtic Festival in 2010 they will perform several  action packed skill at arms and jousting demonstrations over the course of the weekend.

Step back into the 14th century and see four knights put their skills to the test demonstrating skill at arms and of course the joust to win the crowd acclaimation and be named winner.

Skill at arms is a demonstration of cutting the moors head (melons), picking up 4" rings with a sword and hitting the quintain with a lance, these were skills used by knights for training for accuracy for the joust.

The joust consists of two horses and riders in period armour and costumes taking to the lists and charging toward each other in attempt to strike their opponents shield, chest or head in order to break their lance tip and score points.  The harder they hit, the bigger the break, the more points they are scored.  Unhorsings do sometimes happen, but are not guaranteed.

So make sure you come to the Glen Innes Celtic Festival and cheer for your favourite knight.
