The Celtic Symposium brings together a variety of presentations covering anything Celtic! Over the full day, enjoy half-hour talks and discover the range of interests across the full spectrum of Celtic history and culture, given by amateurs and professionals alike. Attend these FREE presentations to immerse yourself in the world of the Celts, meet like-minded people, ask questions, learn from experts in their field, and offer opinions.

The Opening Ceremony marks the official opening of the 2026 Australian Celtic Festival acknowledging Scotland, and includes the lighting of the Friendship Flame, which symbolises the rekindling of old and new acquaintances in the Glen Innes Highlands.

Saturday morning sees Grey Street become a sea of colourful banners as societies, clans, pipe bands, families and others gather for the annual street parade starting 9:30am!
Join the crowds lining the street from the corner of Wentworth Street by the Highlands Hub all the way up past the Town Hall to the corner on Meade Street by the Post Office. Cheer on the marchers as they travel up and back down Grey Street accompanied by the sounds of the sounds of pipes and drums!
